After losing her memory, identity, love and home, she lost all hope.
.....until she lost her slippery glasses
and found her name was Hope
Slippery Glasses is a modern-day fairy tale
with jaw-dropping twists and absurdities
...like Cinderella meets Alfred Hitchcock in
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way
to the Forum.
Have you ever had to say goodbye to the home you once knew?
Have you ever seen your hometown vanish in a rearview mirror or airplane window?
then arrived someplace new---alone---
and had to start over?
Have you ever left your family or lost a loved one?
or stayed in one place while your loved ones were slowly replaced by busy lives, phones or websites?
Then Slippery Glasses will speak to you.
It's about a nearsighted 17-year-old girl who escapes into movies to forget the home she once had with her mother. She meets an undocumented boy who hides with a family of ghosts and dreams of a home he never knew.
As their stories merge, Slippery Glasses becomes
a timely tale of immigration wrapped around a timeless, universal story about our longing
for belonging and home.
After a desperate bid for freedom with an undocumented street performer, a nearsighted teen betrothed to the mob loses her memory in a blast. Dropped into a bizarre musical dreamworld with only a shopaholic ghost mother and an overcaffeinated wrestling partner to help, she must find her identity and home before the mob finds her, immigration takes her love, and their dream of a home is lost forever.
